Our brief was to design a run of wardrobes incorporating mainly mirror fronted doors but with some plain oak detail. This young couple, who had recently moved into their new house, needed internal drawers along with hanging space and required both internal and external lighting. The design also needed to allow for the sloping ceiling at one end.
Detail
The internals of the wardrobes were divided into separate areas for long and short hanging space together with internal drawers and some storage shelving. The doors were handleless with push catch fittings – as the doors open the internal lights automatically switch on making it easy to find whatever you are looking for. The right-hand door was shaped to fit the ceiling and a trim fitted to incorporate the external LED lighting strip above the central mirror doors. This is controlled by a sensor switch that is operated with just the wave of a hand in front of it.
