The design for this kitchen was initially worked on from architects’ drawings. The emphasis for this new build was contemporary lines and natural light. The room is vaulted with a sharp, clean finish and has glass windows and doors on three sides. Our clients chose a scheme that combines modern and traditional styling. The mantle has large decorative corbels with a simple glass splashback matched to the colour as the island. The cabinets are hand painted in subtle grey tones reflecting the light and airy setting. Rounded legs soften the corners of the island and the end of the sink run. The granite worksurfaces are light with delicate grey flecks further enhancing the simple yet sophisticated scheme.
Jane from the design department did a great job putting our requirements into an efficient design and she liaised with our builders to ensure that all the measurements were correct. The fitters arrived on time and finished ahead of schedule; everything went according to plan and the level of finish was excellent. I recommend Franklins very highly – in fact my daughter also used them for a project and was equally delighted with their work.
The kitchen cabinets are an inset, Shaker style with a 10mm cockbead detail. Our clients chose their paint colours from the Farrow and Ball range, Moles Breath for the island and splashback, with Cornforth White on the outer units. The Arctic Spray granite blends perfectly with this colour scheme. Country cup handles, and chunky knobs with rectangular back plates in a Britannium finish combine traditional style with a modern material. All appliances are Neff and include two single pyrolytic ovens, ceramic hob with canopy extractor, fully integrated dishwasher and under counter fridge and freezer.
