About
Our customers had recently moved into their property and had plans to remodel internal walls and extend to allow for a spacious open plan kitchen diner. They were clear about certain aspects of the design from the beginning which helped to focus the design. An Aga and island were top of their wish list and a more traditional styling seemed most fitting. They wanted to make a real feature around the Aga, avoiding wall units around the mantel but with a single shelf to fill the space enough without over cluttering. The island provides a great work space, further storage with the open shelves either end allowing a place to display some of their beautiful crockery. The colour scheme is strong yet balanced. The deep blue of the units meets the monochrome black and white of the granite. A brave choice that works beautifully.
From the moment we met Sue in the showroom we knew we wanted a Franklin’s kitchen as there were so many beautiful options. There were many choices to make but our designer, Jane, took great care to listen to us and achieve our perfect kitchen. The open ended island and Cosmic White granite really make it special. The kitchen is now our favourite room in the house. Thank you to the whole team
Detail
These simple shaker doors are hand-painted in a Dulux paint, accessorised with traditional pewter bar and cup handles. The curved base ends and few oak details add warmth and interest while the Cosmic White granite work surface with its stark swathes of black add real drama to the scheme. The mantel around the Aga housing a Neff canopy extractor and the Villeroy and Boch Farmhouse 80 Belfast Sink completed the traditional look.
