In 2003 Chris & Tony Smith lived at Windsor Hill near Shepton Mallet. They were having a large extension and chose John Franklin Kitchens to fit their new kitchen. They had a fairly traditional oak kitchen and were very happy with their kitchen that had been designed for them by John Franklin.

A few months ago Chris & Tony moved to a new house in East Horrington near Wells. They visited our showroom in Glastonbury and I (Sue Franklin) showed them around our various kitchen displays and explained the differences between the various bespoke styles and finishes we now offer. An appointment was arranged for me to visit their home in Wells to carry out a site survey.

Chris & Tony were fairly sure about what they required from their new kitchen and wished to incorporate a range cooker, integrated dishwasher and some display units together with tall storage units and an integrated washing machine & fridge freezer in the utility room. Special depth units were needed in the utility for the storage units and to cover the free standing boiler – bespoke sizes are no problem for us as we manufacture all of our units on site at our Glastonbury factory.

The finished kitchen was a Harptree design painted in Dulux Goosebury Fool. The worktops were Encore solid surfaces in Mocha Stone – they look beautiful and the joins are very difficult to find!

From our initial meeting this is the 3D design that was produced

and this is the finished kitchen

Tony Smith said ” we were very impressed when John Franklin Kitchens completed our first fitted kitchen and we were delighted to return to Sue Franklin for our next kitchen for our new home in Wells. We felt extremely confident about the level of service and the quality of work we could expect. Sue was very responsive to any of our queries and ensured the job ran smoothly. All the workmen, kitchen fitter, plumber, wall tiler and the painter are very talented and work quickly and efficiently. We already have and will continue to recommend Sue & her kitchen company”.

The range cooker is made by Rangmaster and the other appliances are Neff. Chris loved the white ceramic sink she saw on display in our showroom but wanted a cream sink which we were able to specially order from Villeroy & Boch. A Franke water filter tap was fitted and the whole kitchen was finished off with beautiful LED recessed lighting under the wall units and across the windows in the flyover shelves.
