This is a case study for some customers who live in Barton St David, near Glastonbury. They live in a large old house and had an existing kitchen with built in dresser units but they were looking a little tired. The main units in the kitchen were green and the dresser units were still natural wood. There were also some issues with blown plaster at the bottom of some of the external walls which were damp.
The customers decided to invite one of our designers to have a look and give some ideas about how the current kitchen could be updated without a whole new kitchen.
It was agreed that the blown plaster would be removed, the damp dealt with and then replastered, the worktops would be replaced with granite, some angled units either side of the Aga would be replaced with pull out units, the existing plate rack would be altered and 2 stained glass doors added, some additional units, made to match the existing would be supplied and fitted at the other end of the room, the lighting would be updated and then all the units and dressers would be repainted a different colour & finally the room decorated.
As a general rule when John Franklins are asked to refurbish and existing kitchen this will only be undertaken if they can make it look like a brand new kitchen which was how this kitchen evolved. The dresser units were sanded down and repainted. The tops very varnished and new handles fitted.
The finished dresser units…..
… and finally the finished kitchen complete with contented dog in front of the AGA. This also shows the beautiful Sandstone Storm granite work surfaces.
Its not just complete fitted kitchens that John Franklin Kitchens can provide … maybe your existing kitchen just needs refurbishing.
