We’re sharing with you some of the latest kitchen trends we think will be very popular in 2022. We’ve put together some of our favourites to help you incorporate them into your home – whether that be with a new kitchen or updates throughout your home.

01 | Smart appliances

Alexa, Google Nest and other smart devices have been around for a while now but we’re beginning to see them integrating with every aspect of our lives. Did you know you can turn your oven on even if you’re not in the same room… or even at home?! It’s the same for a range of different home appliances such as your washing machine and dishwasher. You can even implement smart lighting to respond to voice command and schedules you set. This might be something to consider when looking to buy new appliances – most nowadays are in-built with wifi connection!

02 | Patterned flooring

Flooring can really impact a room and therefore, it’s an important element to think about when designing or redecorating your room. There are many options to consider such as geometric and parquet patterns and extravagant tiles.

Over the years, we’ve seen lots of different flooring choices but recently, patterned flooring has become more of a feature in our kitchens. We’ve recently designed this beautiful dark blue kitchen which compliments the wooden herringbone style flooring.

03 | Sustainability

Sustainability is becoming more prevalent in every aspect of life. By using more sustainable materials or purchasing more sustainable appliances, you can feel like you’re making a small difference – it all helps! Terrazzo flooring and worktops is a great alternative as it contains up 80% waste recycled content from the marble and stone industry.

A boiling water tap helps you use less water and energy by only using water you need. With a kettle, you may end up boiling more water than needed and uses more energy. Research suggests that boiling water taps can use up to 50% less energy than a traditional kettle!

04 | Open shelving

Instagram and Pinterest are big influencers in trends and one that is emerging is open or ‘floating’ shelving. As society moves towards a more streamlined and organised home, open shelves encourage order and adds a more decorative element to your kitchen. Everyone loves aesthetically pleasing, well-organised jars, cups, utensils, cook books!
