When designing your kitchen, even the smallest of details can have a big impact such as handles and lighting. We recommend to consider lighting right at the start because you may need to have additional work done to allow for your new lighting arrangements. For example, you may want add pendant lights over an island or table or implement under cupboard lighting. In this article, we’re going to share our four top lighting options to add to your home.

Recessed Spotlights

Spotlights are a very popular choice which can help make any kitchen brighter, or any room in fact! They have a very minimal, slick design which will not deter from or interfere with your beautiful kitchen. They come in a range of colours including white and silver to match your other accessories. For example, you may want white to match the colour of your ceiling so they are less obvious and blend in.

Pendant lighting

Pendant lighting is a great way of adding a statement element to your kitchen. You can add pendant style lights above your dining room table, breakfast bar or kitchen island. Pendant lighting is not restricted to one style. It can work in a traditional, modern, farmhouse, industrial and more home styles.

Hidden lighting

Adding lighting under your units or shelves can have many benefits. Not only does it look lovely but it’s really useful to have additional lighting on your worktop. This is such a simple addition but have a huge impact on the style and functionality of your kitchen.

Mix and match

Mixing different lighting styles such as spotlights and pendants are becoming more and more popular. Plinth lights can even be used too. This can be used to segment areas in your kitchen. For example, you could use pendant lights over your breakfast bar to give you extra light. With this, you can have different lights on different switches which enable you to change the mood of the room. This is why it’s important to think about how you will use the space before planning your new kitchen.
